The first and most important thing you should do is look for the scholarships that best suit your profile. It will take a while, but it is worth being clear about which scholarships you want to apply for.
There are four types of aid: the scholarships, the loans, Monetary prizes for contest and the donations. Of all of them the most requested are the SCHOLARSHIPS.
1. Read the requirements carefully. Not all scholarships are for everyone. You have to look at the requirements and what profiles they are looking for. In case of doubt, contact the person offering the scholarship.
2. Create a calendar: The organization and being clear about the delivery dates of the documents is basic if you want to be successful.
3. Organize the documents required by the application
In most Scholarships, a series of essential documents are requested:
- Academic record;
– Accreditation of your level of English either with the IELTS or the TOEFL;
– Financial situation of the parents (if you are already emancipated and apply for a postgraduate grant), it is not necessary;
– 1 or more trials;
– DNI, birth certificate and/or social security card;
– Application Form completed in its entirety.
4. Come prepared for the interview
Once you have passed the first phase, you will be called for a personal interview. It is one of the most important points. Think that they will see you for the first time and they want to know if you are the right person to obtain that scholarship. Take care of both your personal appearance and your vocabulary and gestures. Rehearse the most important points at home.
5. Carefully review applications
Review vocabulary, spelling and grammar.
Each document to send, reviews the essays, the motivation letter...
