Quantitative Reasoning measure

The Quantitative Reasoning measure has four types of questions:

  • Quantitative Comparison questions
  • Multiple-choice questions—Select One Answer Choice
  • Multiple-choice questions—Select One or More Answer Choices
  • Numeric Entry questions

In this computer-based test, you are allowed to use a basic on-screen calculator in the two sections of the Quantitative Reasoning measure.

Quantitative Comparison questions:

Description:
Questions of this type ask you to compare two quantities—Quantity A and Quantity B—and then determine which of the following statements describes the comparison:

  • Quantity A is greater
  • Quantity B is greater
  • The two quantities are equal
  • The relationship cannot de determined from the information given

Multiple-choice questions—Select One Answer Choice:

Description:
These questions are multiple-choice questions that ask to select only one answer choice from a list of five choices.

Multiple-choice questions—Select One or More Answer Choices:

Description:
These questions are multiple-choice questions that ask you to select one or more answer choices from a list of choices. A question may or may not specify the number of choices to select. These questions are marked with square boxes beside the answer choices, not circles or ovals.

Numeric Entry questions:

Description:
Questions of this type ask you either to enter your answer as an integer or a decimal in a single answer box or to enter it as a fraction in two separate boxes—one for the numerator and one for the denominator. In this computer-based test, use the computer mouse and the keyboard to enter your answer.

Time management:

Each of the two Quantitative Reasoning sections contains twenty questions approximately and you have a total of thirty five minutes to complete each section. Thus, you have an average of a minute and forty five seconds per question approximately.
